Dr. Richard M. Cromie,
Interim Pastor
Dr. Richard M. Cromie brings to Sharon Presbyterian
Church the experience of forty-five years as a Presbyterian Pastor. He
retired in 2004 from Royal Poinciana Chapel in Palm Beach, Florida, and
served churches in Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Mt. Lebanon, PA; and Allison
Park, PA. Dick was born in Pittsburgh, PA, is a graduate of the
University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, and received
his Ph.D. degree
at St. Mary's College of the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. He
was awarded the Doctor of Divinity degree from Grove City College in
Western Pennsylvania. Dick has published books, poetry, and articles
here and in Great Britain, including The Future is Now (on church
long-range planning), A Journey Through Cancer, Christ Will See you
Through, When You Lose Someone You Love, The Rhapsody of Scripture,
and You Now Have Custody of You: On Christian Marriage and Divorce.
He is charter president of Desert Ministries, Inc., a non-profit
Christian corporation founded in 1982 and located in Matthews, NC. DMI
publishes books and pamphlets for use of clergy and laity and has a
program for encouraging young ministers towards excellence in Pastoral
Care and Concerns. Dick and his wife, Margaret, have three grown
daughters and two grandchildren.
