Over the summer, Jason Terzis of WTVI PBS Charlotte (channel 5), filmed a short feature story about why are there so many Sharon Roads in South Charlotte. Webop: ABC’s of Jazz for PreschoolersSaturdays thru November 16th, Parlor
Swing, stomp and sing with your little ones in this interactive introduction to this jazz program for preschoolers and caregivers. For children ages 2-5, Webop offers a series of 45-minute weekly classes where children and caregivers learn the core concepts, instruments and performers of the joyous rhythms of jazz. Children’s Christmas Cantata: Journey to the MangerDecember 8th, 10:30am (during worship), Sanctuary
Calling all children!! This year’s pageant will be a Christmas Cantata! We will be performing a collection of beloved Bible verses and familiar toe-tapping tunes with new lyrics that tell the story of how we got from darkness to Light. ALL children are welcome to participate. Four, five, and six year olds will rehearse the music during Wiggling Worshipers and grades 2nd-5th will rehearse the music, instruments, and readings from 11:45am to 12:15pm every Sunday (except this Sunday). 2019 Advent Devotional Booklet SubmissionsDue November 1st (under 500 words)
The Teaching Committee is producing an Advent Devotion Booklet and is seeking to include the entire congregation. Click here to sign-up to contribute a devotion based on one of the scripture lessons from the PC(USA) daily lectionary readings. Feel free to include an artwork selection or non-personal photograph. The devotions will be sent out by e-blast each day from December 1st – December 25th. Printed copies will also be available. Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Distribution November 3rd, After 8:30am and 10:30am Service
Save the Date! Operation Christmas Child (OCC) shoeboxes will be distributed after Morning Song and Traditional Worship. You will have two weeks to shop and fill your boxes with Christmas magic for a girl or boy! Return shoeboxes to either service or the church office on Sunday November 17th. SPC BloodmobileNovember 10th, 8:30am – 1pm, Gym
Thanks again to all of you who participated in the last drive in August! We had 31 donors that came and we collected 29 units which, again, surpassed our goal by two! For your convenience, we will be using a computer for check-in and encouraging the use of Rapid Pass to help our drives run more efficiently. You can sign up for this drive before and after both services on November 3rd or by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App. Please help us to help save lives!

Spreading the Love - November 24th, 8:30am, Gym & Sanctuary
Join us for our Fourth Annual “Spreading the Love” serving opportunity. We will enjoy the spread of a delicious hot breakfast and then, with loving hands, spread the meat and cheese on 1200 sandwiches for Charlotte’s Urban Ministry Center. More details are available in the November church newsletter. The schedule for “Spreading the Love” is as follows:
