This month you are invited to participate in a time of worship, study and prayer as we consider our gifts to the church. Commitment Sunday will be on October 27th at both worship services. Please mark your calendar for this exciting and important day in the life of our congregation! If you have any questions or would like more information, please reach out to our Stewardship Team; Rich Boersema, Tim Gilbert, AJ Jarnecke and Peter Banks. Please bring your contributions for Loaves and Fishes. We will collect food items on the sec­ond Sunday of every month. Items may be placed in the Narthex of the Sanctuary.

The 2019 Flower Calendar is available and ready for you to reserve a date. Please review the calendar and sign up today! The flower calendar is located on the wall to the left of the church office. World Reformation Month
Join us for a special series of 10:30am worship services from around the world! On SOUTH AFRICAN Sunday (10/20), we will worship like typical South Africans; and SCOTLAND Sunday (10/27) will feature another Kirkin’ o’ th’ Tartan, honoring Sharon Presbyterian's Scottish roots and families (wear plaid!). Each week, the music ministry will “pull out all the stops” as we sing in over six languages and feature special guest drummers, bagpipers, choirs, vocalists and more.

Sharon Presbyterian Youth Basketball - Saturdays, December 2019 – February 2020, Gym
It’s time for SPC Basketball! We will be fielding teams for boys and girls between the ages 5-18. If you would like to join us this year, registration is now open until October 20th midnight. Webop: ABC’s of Jazz for PreschoolersSaturdays thru November 16th, Parlor
Swing, stomp and sing with your little ones in this interactive introduction to this jazz program for preschoolers and caregivers. For children ages 2-5, Webop offers a series of 45-minute weekly classes where children and caregivers learn the core concepts, instruments and performers of the joyous rhythms of jazz. Calling all coaches! We need volunteers to coach all ages during our basketball season. Click here to register to volunteer before October 20th. 

Charlotte CROP Walk - October 20th; 2:30pm, Independence Park
Join in the 41st Annual Charlotte CROP Walk to help end hunger and poverty locally, nationally, and internationally. The family-friendly walk is 4.1 miles, symbolizing the average round trip people in developing nations make daily to get water. The Walk will benefit local partners, Crisis Assistance Ministry, Loaves & Fishes, and Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. Look for Mike McGarity at a signup table in the narthex to register or to sponsor a walker. 2019 Advent Devotional Booklet SubmissionsDue November 1st (under 500 words)
The Teaching Committee is producing an Advent Devotion Booklet and is seeking to include the entire congregation. Click here to sign-up to contribute a devotion based on one of the scripture lessons from the PC(USA) daily lectionary readings. Feel free to include an artwork selection or non-personal photograph. The devotions will be sent out by e-blast each day from December 1st – December 25th. Printed copies will also be available. Together in Education with Harris Teeter!! This program gives schools a chance to earn funds when you link your card and shop at Harris Teeter. Please link your Vic card to our school number: 2783. You can be linked to multiple schools and we are happy to link your card for you. Just complete the enrollment form in the narthex. Thank you for your support of SPWS.

Please save all your Box Tops for Education! We collect these boxtops for SPWS. For each Box Top we receive, we earn 10¢. This allows us to earn cash for our school every time you buy groceries. Please turn them into the Box Tops box in the narthex.
