A year in the life of Sharon Presbyterian Church

Sharon Presbyterian is a vibrant church for every age.  Full of activities that are meant to serve the congregations needs, whether for praise, spiritual growth, fellowship, or service.  A snapshot of a year in the life of Sharon will get you started.  Peruse the full website, the calendar, or speak to a minister or committee member for more opportunities to get connected.

Worship, fellowship, dinners, and activities throughout the year, such as the annual Chili Cook-off in January, monthly Sunday Night Live, the well-known Fall Festival, and our outdoor So Long Summer Worship Service in September.  The Events page will tell you what's coming up next.

Music at Sharon Church is a vibrant activity for everyone, whether you want to participate or simply enjoy.  Children’s choir, adult Chancel choir, and handbells are open to all.  The vocal ensemble, praise team, and musical ensembles provide opportunities for experienced musicians of every level.

Sharon is a venue for professional arts events such as the Piedmont Baroque Orchestra, VOX choral group, Carolina Opera, Rick Bean Jazz trio, and the Bubble Man show.    The Events page will highlight what you can look forward to next.

Outreach projects: monthly meals at the homeless shelters, food for Loaves & Fishes food pantry, Stop Hunger Now meal packaging, host church for Room in the Inn, Peru and Western North Carolina Mission Trips, almost daily AA Meetings and more – there is opportunity to support our neighbors in need.

Studies and spiritual development:  Presbyterian Women Circles, Bible studies, and services held in members’ home, at the church, or at a local eating establishment.

Hobbies and interests with friends:  whether it’s playing Bridge or baseball, you will find a group who will want to enjoy it with you.  There are even many ways to turn your skills and professional interests into support, such as photography, teaching, technology, and writing.

Developing our kids: Scouts, Vacation bible school, Christian development, baseball league, music, after school programs provide the energy of kids across campus all week long.

Sharon Presbyterian Youth: During the school year, Senior High and Middle School Youth meet on Sunday evenings for dinner and activities, with conferences, mission trips, and special activities throughout the year.
