Christian Fellowship Sunday School Class, meets in the Parlor of the Charles Little Activity Building
Christian Fellowship typically enjoys about 20-30 members, with a class member as leader. This class follows The Present Word. The class meets for a few social functions each year, such as a Christmas Party, and dinners together. Christian Fellowship started Sharon Church's participation in Loaves and Fishes program, collects baby supplies for the women's shelter, delivers day-old bread to the Men's and Women's shelters, and hosts the Undy Sunday and Sock-tober collections for Crisis and the Emergency Shelter, to name just a few of this class's ministries!
Covenant Westminster Sunday School Class, meets CLAB Room 6
Covenant Westminster has about 40-50 members. Upcoming studies may include topics such as the second half of life, the will of God, and three simple rules that will change the world. This discussion-oriented class began in the 1980's and the curriculum alternates between Biblical teaching and issues of the day. Once a year the class develops a list of subjects/books to follow. In addition to being active with homeless programs, this class has occasional social activities during the year, including covered dish suppers and attending activities together.
Focus Sunday School Class, meets in the Old Session Room of the Annex
The FOCUS Sunday school class meets in the “Old Session Room” of the Chapel Annex. FOCUS varies classroom topics between traditional Bible study, spiritual nurturing, and exploration of Christian relationships, ethics and history. Teachers are a combination of volunteers from the FOCUS class, guest speakers, and our own clergy. Members of the class tend to have children of Elementary School and Middle School age. Class attendance is usually about 25 people per Sunday although membership is almost twice that large. Many members volunteer during Rotation Sunday School. The FOCUS class hosts several enjoyable social functions throughout the year outside of the classroom.
Horizons Sunday School Class, meets in the Annex Lower Level
Horizons Class has approximately 40 people include parents of youth and young adults. Members take turns leading the class studies with occasional speakers. Members of this class volunteer in several areas of the church as well as attend social functions together.
All of these classes love to have new members. If you are already a member of a class and a topic in another class interests you, please take time to visit. If you are not presently a member of a class, take the summer weeks to visit each of the classes to see what is going on!
