Rev. Ron E. Nelson
Rev. Ron E. Nelson is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. He has served Selwyn Avenue Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC, and has been a longtime Associate Pastor here at Sharon Presbyterian. Ron has a heart for pastoral care, loves to teach, and gets excited when people see how God is at work in the church, their lives, and the world.
Ron runs a “taxi service” with his wife, Lisa, getting their daughters, Audra and Aspen, to all their activities. He loves any beach anywhere anytime; watching his girls play rugby; NASCAR racing; riding rollercoasters; and climbing lighthouses.
He went on a 23-day camping trip across the U.S. during which he hiked the Grand Canyon; had a “cameo appearance” in Homeland with Damian Lewis (who is very nice, by the way!); and his first career was as a pharmacist. He likes to tell people he was a “drug dealer” who saw the light.
